Description:

There is a strong demand for mental health–related services as individuals become more aware of the importance of managing such conditions as anxiety and depression. Being well from within takes time, and helping someone find their way and achieve their goals is why many individuals choose to study counselling. This program is suitable for individuals who enjoy listening to others, are able to form connections and can provide support and resources.

The Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Counselling program at Tyndale provides educational preparation for students to become certified counsellors with professional counselling associations and registered psychotherapists with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) certification. It prepares students as psychotherapists, equipping them to serve in a variety of agencies in secular or Christian settings or in private practice.

Tyndale's program is focused on holistic client health, ensuring that students address their spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and social needs first so that they, in turn, can help others. Students learn to adapt to any setting, whether that means praying with a client or learning to connect virtually with a socially isolated individual.
